Mention of footie players' wages makes me seethe! I recall reading an article about a player who had committed a crime; the article said something along the lines of "Joe Bloggs earns £10,000 per week". He doesn't earn it. He gets paid that. Personally as part of his punishment I wanted to see him do several shifts in an A & E unit, and put up with the abuse and hassle that nursing staff get on a daily basis.

Rant over - excellent cause.

As my family have both nurses and doctors I will always support the health care staff. It is a measure of this governments principals that because they know that health care staff are highly unlikely to take any industrial action that they have offered to pay them them this derisory amount. People should remember that MP's(Brown,Blair,Hewitt,Cameron and the rest) have demanded a 66% increase for themselves. The unprincipled greed of these people is almost but not quite beyond belief!.

I think it's a generous offer from football players and a great publicity stunt to raise awareness of our pay status.
It's really rubbish that we should get such a small pay rise this year.
Nurses have to take lots of responsibility and have a huge skill base and were stilll payed less than a primary school teacher. It's so unfair.

A footballers days pay is about a nurses monthly salary !!!
Wont be any hardship for the footballers I suppose and any support is appreciated but its the Government that need to pay more to the nurses rather than nurses having to rely on charity.
