Specifically, is the ball placed in the same location? Is it a full or three quarter swing? Does the club come through shallow? Do you hit on upswing or at the bottom of the swing?

There are times up here in the Pacific Northwest when I want my driver tee shots to stay low and not get caught up in the stronger winds. I play it back about where I play a three iron, but have the hands in the same position as though I was playing it inside the left heel. This takes loft off of the face of the club and still allows me to hit the tee shot over 250 yards on the fly and keep it low at the same time. My definition of a low tee shot is like where at the highest point of the ball flight, it is still below 15 feet above the ground.

The driver is not a knock down club, however, to play a knock down shot you want to choke down on the club. For every inch you choke down you drop one club length. For instance, using a 7 iron and choking down 2 inches makes the club play like a 9 iron but with a lower trajectory.

Dont worry so much about knocking it down. That's not the driver's purpose. For keeping it low, use a draw (right to left for rightys). The clubface is slightly closed, lowering the degree causing for a low, sweeping shot.
