I have a sister Barbara. A few days ago, she went on this Yahoo & asked a question in the Religion & Spirituality Section about why she is having trouble trying to pray. She told of her husbands money troubles & of how much she loves her baby boy. She told of how they have to move by 4/1/07 & her husband was not saving money & she was worrying. She told of her panic attacks & how she can't leave the house. She got a few nice answers. Mostly she got people telling her she was lazy & to get a job. She works 4 nights a week at home doing medical transcription. One woman told her that child services would take the baby and she was an unfit mother only worrying about her husband & not the baby. We grew up in an unfit household but my sister is the best mom & wife & would not even smoke a cigarette. She has no friends, I don't know what she wanted from this yahoo. She cried showing me what people wrote. She cut her wrists but she'll live. She is in the hospital now. Think.

Instead of blaming everyone on this site, maybe she should take some personal responsibility.
Nobody was threatening her with anything, they were valid warnings of what could happen if she didn't take action. When a situation is that dire, people need the TRUTH, not a pat on the head.

I'm so sorry to hear about the problems your sister is going through. You are right that there are people on here that don't really care about others or just make remarks to be plain hateful. I don't understand it either. This should be a forum where people can ask questions and get legitimate answers in a rational way without being ripped apart.
It does sound like your sister needs a lot of love, support, and probably some counseling as well. If they are having money problems, hopefully there are some free counseling services that the hospital can recommend for her.
If she belongs to a church, maybe the church can also help out, either financially, with some counseling, assisting with childcare, or something to help relieve her and her husband's burdens.
Just try to be there for her now, and as her sister, do your best to research some options for her to find help. I don't know the circumstances of her situation, but maybe her husband can try to save some money if he has any extra. If not, hopefully he can either try to see if he can get a raise, work extra hours, or maybe get a second job or a job that pays better to help.
Please know that not everyone on here is hateful. There are some of us that really do want to help others and try to give the best answers we can.

They're called "trolls". Ever since the Yahoo News discussion boards shut down, all of the trolls are over here on Y!A now. These are the assholes who have nothing better to do with their lives but to troll around looking for random people to insult. The Religion & Spirituality topic tends to attract more than its fair share of trolls, and self-righteous poseurs. Y!A is not for the overly sensitive.

I m realy sorry to hear this all, Ahh she should not come to this place for help, this place does has some peoples who only know to hurt others.they take things for fun.......and do not realise that sometimes peoples come here for serious help......Wish your sis all the luck And May she get well soon, I would advise you to get her cheeck up done by some psycologist we well, she needs a mentle help, as reacting to this thing to that extend could be more dangrous .....i think she need some rest and good friends around her to tell her that life is still very beautiful and there are much more in it.......hard times come but everything get settled at the end.......thats for sure !

People should take this site seriously because someone out there really needs help and don't know how to come foward about it so they use this website for advice. Real talk, this site can save people from damnation or hurt. You really don't know what's going on with people's mentality and emotions so don't play with them. I even made that same mistake of joking with someone and they took it personal and probably thinks all black dudes are like this. My prayers go out to Barbara. Really its no one's fault. This world has been contradicting and insensitive since the beginning.

There are many evil people that have taken over the Yahoo! "religion and spirituality" answers section. So many that Yahoo! no longer moderates properly. This is why I no longer frequent Yahoo answers as I used to. I just got sick of it of the base remarks and adolescent attitudes.
I am afraid she looked in the wrong place for answers while she was in such a vulnerable state.

I am sorry to hear about your sister, hopefully she will get the help she needs, she shouldn't be taking what others think to the point of harming herself and putting her family in an even worse spot than they are in.
A lot of people on hear are just looking for a quick 2 points and don't take the questions seriously. It is a lot quicker to throw out a criticism than to actually take time to think about the question and give your best answer.

Please tell Barbara that she must seek the Lord first..some people will only discourage her..but the Lord will lift her up, during this her hour of great turmoil..

Not everyone can handle the cruelty that people seem intent upon displaying on this site. God is watching, however. God hears her prayers and he knows what is in her heart. He knows what she needs before she asks for it. Tell her to have faith in Jesus and to ignore the various and sundry idiots on this site that like to mess with people's heads. God answers all prayers. God does not judge the quality of a prayer by how long it is or by how fancy the words used, but by the heart that is behind the prayer. A beautiful heart will automatically create a beautiful prayer. We should never judge our praying by human standards----we should just offer them up the best way we know how and have faith that God has received them and has fulfilled them in his time and in a way that will benefit us the best according to the wisdom of God. I pray that your sister fully recover from her ordeal and I have faith that her prayers have been answered in the kingdom of heaven and that they will soon manifest in this realm. God bless you both.
