Growing up, my parents and all other grown-ups told me that there was a Santa Clause. At around age 9, my friends and I figured out that it was all a big lie. Doesn't this practice ruin the parents'/grown-ups' credibility? If Santa is a lie (and the tooth fairy, easter bunny, etc...), then how can kids believe that God is real when you say He is? Don't you think that lying to kids is wrong? Doesn't it teach that lying is okay?

I thank God my parents always told me the truth :)

I can't work out why any parent would tell their kids the Santa Claus story, because the character doesn't see who is naughty and nice, just who is rich and poor :/ What slander on the character of Nicholas of Myra (the man the Santa legends grew from).

there is not any longer in all hazard a definite distinction between Santa and God in mythic traits. If I had to assert so, Santa is plenty greater possible (and makes a splash greater experience) than God once you talk approximately it, nevertheless it fairly is obtrusive there is not any Santa. The God tale basically occurs to be slightly older. utilising the excuse of Santa, as you stated, to make people behave etc... is fairly precisely what faith is used for en masse.

In my book, teaching Santa Claus is highly unethical.

With all the things kids are taught to believe about him, he must be like a god to them. He seems to be the god of materialism.

How can Christians give him such a place, when it is the time we celebrate Christ's birth.

The Bible speaks against teaching myths. It makes me sad that Christians do this.

Isn't just terrible that even childhood make believe things have to be talked down about? Come on, give us a break.
