There is a chemical called 'para' which can cause an allergic reaction. It is found in some hair colours. It can be fatal if you are allergic to it.
Yes, the colour companies are covering their backs but only due to the fact that you may have an allergic reaction. It is quite serious. .
Also. the chemicals in the colours are changed all the time, to save money e.t.c. so you should really do the test every time you colour you're hair.
I have seen a picture of a woman who had an allergic reaction to 'para'. It was not nice at all. You're better folllowing instructions and if redness or itching occurs when you do the test, wash off the patch of colour immediately and do not use the colour on your hair. good luck.

Depends on how short your hair is. Sometimes clippling off a long piece helps, but then again you will end up having to mix in the chemicals. They start to go bad if not used up within hours.
Don't mix all chemicals, just whats needed for the test.
I am very allergic most things: food, indoor/outdoor allergies. I have never had a allergic reaction when I used to bleach my hair and put in punk dyes. (pink).
Question yourself, any odd sickness showing up the last few days? Cold or flu? Wait. Other than that just go for it!
FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS TO THE "T"! Have timer ready, don't bother wearing a shirt or clothing. Use old robe. Put vaseline around your hairline and ears.

You Must do a hair test and leave it 48 hours ideally.
It is very silly to just risk doing the dye without a test. Allergic reactions, allow rare, can be devastating so do a test.

I know alot of people who are not alleric to strawberries and eggs but yet people has died and has had a severe allergic reaction to these foods. It`s up to you if you test or not but remember if you dont then you will regret the itcy and annoying rash on your scalp, neck and face and you really wont like it when your eyes swell from a allergic reaction to the dye if you are allergic..

There is always a first time for the reaction. Best do the test if in doubt, and the first time useing the product.

Better safe than sorry! If you've used dye before and been ok, chances are you will be fine, but if it's your first time then follow the instructions exactly as they say on the leaflet.
