you can do an nvq at college for 3 years full time, you could do a day release from your salon and they wil send you to college one day a week,(if you do this make sure they offer good in house training, some want to keep u permanantly glued to the back wash) or you could go to a reputable company like andrew collinge(north west only) or vidal sassoon or toni and guy where they have theeir own academys, their training will be excellent! colleges and salons will be looking for a new intake of first year juniors so start applying now!!! good luck!!!

Hi

Here are some tips on how to become a hair stylist -
Have a legitimate interest in beauty school.
Look in the paper for beauty schools. You can also ask your stylist if they know a good school nearby.
Call the school and set up a meeting with the adviser.
Enroll in the school and attend all classes.
After completing the classes, look for beauty shops with openings for new stylists.

Find a good cosmetology school in your area, register, take classes, get your 1500 hours, take the state board exam, get your license & you are a stylist.
