As an ex nurse and as an adult who suffered from Chicken pox - (no, its not just a childhood disease) - I know you can get chicken pox spots in your mouth. I had them in my mouth, down my throat and under my eye lids! I even had them in more intimate places!!!!!! It appears to be worse the older you get. If you have this then I comiserate - it is awful. Luckily it does not last long. :)

Yes - a very bad case of chicken pox can get into the mouth, but it is usually only seen in adults who get chicken pox. Adults get it much worse than children do, to the point where they often have to be hospitalized because it affects the lungs as well. Of course, you would have a terrible case of chicken pox all over the rest of your body if you had it in your mouth. Usually, we recommend against going to the Dr. for chicken pox (because there's usually not anything that needs to be done about it and you don't want to expose other people to it), but if it's so bad that it's in your mouth and you're starting to feel really sick you should see a Dr. Not in the emergency room, please - call the Dr. to make an appointment before you get there so they can be ready to get you into isolation right away to avoid exposing other people.

Chicken pox only affects the skin. You can't get them inside the mouth.

Yes and in your throat. It was terrible. Gargle with baking soda water. It helps a bit.

yes you can. you can get them anywhere on, or in your body. it is a virus, herpes, and if the pus gets somewhere, like your mouth, that area gets the lesion.
