Most cars with fuel injection and an electric fuel pump have a switch that will turn off the fuel pump when it has impacted something as in an accident. Apparently you hit the pot hole hard enough to trigger the switch. It usually can be reset by pushing a button. Look in your owners manual to find the location. It is probably located in the trunk.

Your fuel pump safety switch has been tripped. This is set to turn your fuel pump off whenever there is an impact over a certain threshold, to avoid spraying gasoline during (and after) an accident. The reset button is usually fairly easy to find. Look behind the side panels inside the trunk (there will probably be an access hatch in the panel, but no guaranties), or in the front foot wells. If you still can't find it - call a Ford dealer - they'll be happy to tell you where to find it.
Good luck.

The force of the impact might have tripped your fuel pump safety switch located in your trunk area. That prevents your fuel pump from pumping fuel after an accident to prevent a fire. Open your trunk and check behind the left side panel covering (or elsewhere) to see if you can find the safety cutoff switch. Once you do, push the button to reset it. If you have your owner's manual, refer to it for the location of the fuel cutoff safety switch.

BIG POTHOLE HUH!
THee is a switch called the fuel shutoff switch which is in the rear of the vehicle usually accessed from the trunk or rear hatch. behind a panel you will find I think it is black with wires coming out. there is a reset button on it. Press it.... I bet you hit the hole hard enough to trip the switch. I have done this also..

Sounds like the safety fuel cutoff switch was triggered during the impact. Find your owners manual and look up where the switch is located and reset the switch.

as the others have said ,check the fuel control reset first. should be located in the back under the rear upholstery panel to the drivers side. if the pot hole was full of water your ignition system may have got wet . you may have crushed a fuel line if you bottomed out. also the impact may have caused a sensor connector to disconnect though i doubt it
