No it does not have a deflationary effect. Because the USA doesn't have open immigration unlike other countries that do (so there are a very controlled percentage of immigrants). Legal immigration in our country in fact has a positive effect because they (the immigrant and sponsor) are required to earn a specific projected income in order to live here. I don't think that it effects it either way it mainly just strengthens the middle -working class. It is the illegal immigration issue that is negatively effecting the US economy today.

The problem is not the effect on the economy, people spending money that work for pennies only helps those that do earn a lot. But the aid provided for illegal immigrants by the government has a detrimental effect on us. Higher taxes, budget cuts to things like school systems and things along those lines. Personally if you have a green card thats fine, you earned it, Student Visa even better maybe you will do something great. But if you jumped over a border or floated over. What help are you actually doing?

It has a poverty effect, and when people have no money, the rest of it hardly matters.
It keeps the price of goods down but keeps wages in poverty so people still can't afford them. Then it ruins our social services which are intended to help those in poverty and to protect the middle class when they are older or temporarily in need. Worst, though, it ruins our schools and our children's ability to compete.
