It is fully cooked when you poke it with a knife or fork around the leg area and it is not bloody or too pink.I don`t know how u r preparing the chicken..but you should be safe with this..if you are baking a whole bird..3 hrs., baking pieces..1 hr., boiling..1 hr..if you are frying or b.b.q.ing par boil the chicken first. O yeah, try Honeynut Corn Flakes..broken..as a coating for oven baked pieces..mm.mm

If you are roasting:- When there is absolutely no trace of pink juices. To establish this pick the whole carcass up - using appropriate utensils, hold over the roasting pan and tip neck end down. The juices should be clear. To be absolutely sure pierce fattest part of a leg with a skewer or knife and again, make sure their are no pink juices.
Enjoy your chicken!

a meat thermometer is best, but if you don't have one, make sure the juices run clear and the meat is not pink when checked. You should also check for doneness in the thickest part of the chicken.

Pieces or a whole chicken? For pieces I cut down next to the bone and look for blood. For a whole chicken, twist one of the drumsticks. If the bone twists easily, the chicken is done.

Stick it with a fork in the thickest part. If the juices that run out are pink, it's not done. If clear, it's done.
