The guy I'm seeing feels neglected when I can't go over to see him. Last week we spent 3 days doing stuff together and I had a good time, but I'm always stuck chauffering us to these places cause he doesn't have a car. My gas bill was through the roof last month and I have responsibilities I can't always put to the side to spend time with him. Not to mention I miss seeing my other friends and family. What should I do?

Explain how you enjoy his company and it's fun hanging out, but you've realized how sidetracked you've gotten with other respnsibilite. Let him know that your gas bill is set to a budget that you have to stick to and riding out all the time is making you overspend. Try and come with a common day for you guys to get together and have fun. Also, ask if he'll pitch in the gas every so often- after all he is rding with you and I'm sure sometimes he makes suggestions on where to go and when. In general, getting together TOO much can make things get old to quickly, so just lay off and it'll probably pay off in the long run. Nothing you're requesting is out of line and he needs to respect that. Get ready for a possible guilt trip, but dont let it get to you. Good luck and I hope he understands.

I enjoy spending time with you but I can't today. If he doesnt understand then thats his problem. Spending time away from each other helps one another value the other and your relationship. Yes of course you would love to be with one another every minute possible but just think the feeling you get when you havent seen him for a few days and then you do. It's priceless :)

And if he needs a ride then maybe he should get a car or a bike. How did he ever make it without you? Ex girlfriend? Thats not cool.

Just be upfront. Tell him you really like him but there are other things that you need to do for yourself.

You tell him the exact same thing you just told us. If he's worth it, he'll understand, and if he doesn't understand, it's not meant to be.
