Not really. You may want to consider a protein shake if you've been doing some really intense weight lifting for more than 45 minutes, because your body will need extra protein to rebuild the muscles.

But if you've been doing cardio, or just light weight training, it's just extra calories you don't really need. What you really need then is water.

You can also get the extra protein from a chicken breast, or other good protein source with less sugar.

I'm no nutrinionist expert but, I can safely say the answer is no. The idea of shakes and or other supplement is to increase mass and bulk up or get cut a bit faster. The problem is that most people do not work uout enough to justify the extra supplement. Just drink water or gatoraid, depending on how much you sweated.

Only take supplements when you reallyget serious about your work out and want to compete. Eve then consult someone who know what they are doing. What I have seen is that a lot of people relly too much on the suplement. At the begining it works but after a while, because they don't work out enough, they get fat. It is the excercise that makes yu strong or toned not the shake.

I think it depends on what kind of protein shake you are drinking. Some are loaded with calories & sugar.I drink protein shakes every morning & I have never gained weight with them especially with the whey protein cause it gives you lots of energy.

no, and in truth they do not work at all, your body is incapable of assimilating that much protein, it simply becomes fat.

unless you take steroid of course, then the protein works.
