I would ask for at least 4 references; people you worked for while caring for children. I would also want to see how well you interact with "my" child and I would schedule a play date with the potential nanny. I would want to know your past history, I would also want to run a criminal report (just to check to ensure you were not some kind of sex offender...I doubt you are but in today's world you can never be too sure). My best advice is to get your references lined up and to be as open as possible so that your potential mommy's feel comfortable asking you for references and history's. Good Luck, not too sure if that helps but it is some idea.

If I were hiring a nanny I would want to know how you interact with kids. What kind of discipline techniques do you use? What sort of activities do you do with the kids? How often do you take them outside? On field trips? How much television/computer time do you allow? Do you drive and what is your driving record like? Do you know how to properly intall and use a car seat? Hope that helps! Good luck.

honestly i would do a full background check! I would want personal and business references i would want to know any kind of run in the law you may have had and history of drug abuse etc.. but above all if i don't know you and i love my child i wouldn't hire you. No offense but i would never endanger my child's life by in-trusting a stranger no matter how much research i did on them sorry sweetie this world is full of tooo many bad bad bad ppl in it and for all i know you are one of them! some ppl are very trusting maybe u will get lucky. put schooling down, special training, all past job history wish you luck unless you are a bad bad bad person!

I would want to know what schedule you are used to keeping a child on. What you would be feeding my child, making sure you do not put his face in front of the tube all day, and make sure you are willing to challenge my child educationally. I would also want to have a full backround check(provided by you) and know what CPR/ FIRST AID training you have. Do you drive? What is your driving record. Are you in to outdoor activities. Will you keep my child being active? Do you live in Alaska?;)
