My dachshund tends to react badly to shots too. When we told this to our vet last time we took her to get them, he recommended that we give her half at that visit, and take her back a week later to get the rest. She was still a little lethargic afterwards, but she handled it much, much better, since they weren't given all at once. You may want to ask your vet if that’s an option.

talk to your vet, remember vaccines have a different effect on everbody. Even animals. I got a flu shot last year and I got a light case of the flu from it, i talked to my doctor and he said it was fine, Got my shot again this year and got a mild Flu again. But its worth it since my family all got full blown cases a month later and I was free and clear. You just cant take risks especially with things like rabies and such.

The shots were not likely the cause of her lethargy. The stress of the vet visit may have caused it or perhaps she was just a little "under the weather" at that time.
Don't skip your shots. They ARE necessary. You not only have to think of the wellbeing of your own dog, but all the other dogs yours comes in contact with.
Most vets offices/kennel facilities/dog daycare/ dog parks... will not permit dogs who are not vaccinated to attend.
Discuss your concerns with your vet.

Discuss with your vet, however current thinking is that dogs do not need to be vaccinated yearly and should be boostered every 3 years rather than annually. I don't vaccinate mine yearly.

Discuss this with your vet. I only have my dogs vaccinated every 3 years, and one of the doesn't get vaccinated at all because she had a bad reaction last time.

I would talk to your vet before you go for the shots, and tell him what happened. May there is something your vet can give your dog to make it better
