Particularly those in the Nation of Islam and other sects in the US dominated by blacks? I believe they are Sunni, so do Sunni Arab Muslims feel a strong connection to them, even though they are converts? Also, what do Shiites think?

Though I am not an Arab, Black converts are just like any other converts to the Muslim faith, my brothers or sisters in Islam.
However many Muslims don't regard the NOI as Muslims as the NOI believe Elijah Mohammed was thier final prophetand not the Seal of the Prophets was Muhammad ibn Abdullah (pbuh).
If you examine NOI carefully you find it has more similarities to Christianity than Islam.
The Shi'ite even though I may disagree with them on a few things (especially Ashura for me) I still respect them.

Just as there is One Sun in our Solar System that feeds different planets and sustains different forms of life, there is One Islam that feeds the Spiritual needs of different peoples in different parts of the world.
I can't speak for the Arab Muslims, but as a Muslim in the Nation of Islam, I accept All Muslims who sincerely follow the Qur'an and the Sunna of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) as my Brothers and Sisters in Islam, even though I understand that many of them disagree with our position and interpretation.

i am Arab Muslim and well we love anyone who converts regardless of race. When someone converts at my mosque we usually invite them toour house for dinner lol, no matter what race. WHite, Black, Asian, Indian, LAtinos all entered our home and at the mosque everyne treats them with respect. It is also true that we do not consider AlQaeda and the Taliban true Muslims. They killed innoccent people, destroyed property, gave s a bad name, and they also adulterated the Quran which is a huge sin.

Any Muslim who says his Shahadah, is a member of the Islamic faith. Whether you're White, Black, Asian, Middle Eastern, etc doesn't matter.
Although I will say this much:
Many Muslims don't consider the Shi'a, al-Qaeda, and the other "extremists" to be Muslim themselves.

No idea about the other sects but the "Nation of Islam" has some guy as a Prophet...which is *very* wrong.
