We have a three year old daughter and one year old boy. What kinds of things are there to do while we are there visiting? Fun resturaunts, or zoo's? Malls, etc.? Thankyou!

The National Zoo is an okay choice. Go to see the Pandas at the very least. As for the rest of the Zoo, it really isn't one of the best in the country and is kind of shameful. The Aerospace Museum remains the quintessential family musuem with lots of neat stuff to look at and things to touch, like a moon rock. Family chain resteraunts abound, so if your kids are picky, something can probably be found that familar. Cosi's offers S'mores you roast yourself over a steno flame, which can be a fun night time eating experience for kids.
If you take a day trip to Baltimore, there is the harbor and the Children musuem there is top notch, one of the best in the country after San Fransisco. Malls around here are the same sububurn malls as anywhere else, and not particuarly fun in my opinion.
Paddle Boats in the Tidal Basin are fun for kids, though yours might be a little young. The Botonical Gardens can be good fun for the family, as it is interesting and kids dont seem to get bored there. The winter display was especially neat with eleborate train sets, but they always have interactive stuff all year around.
Other than that, look in local guides before hand, because there is always lots of shows and events in town geared towards kids.

The thing to see is the National Mall. It's an outdoor walkway that connects the White House, Lincoln Memorial, Washington Monument, and Congress.

Just thought that a few of these sites might help. I know that my 5 year old grandson really enjpyed looking at the dinosaurs located at the Smithsonian. He also loved the zoo. Have fun!!!!

there's this place, at the national mall i think, called mideval adventures or something. ITS GREAT! sorry i can't help more with the name and stuff, but SERIOUSLY you can't miss it! its a themed restataunt that lets you eat barbarically and mideval-like, good food too, and you watch a knight competition. its perfect for everyone! im not sure about rates since i went on a class trip but its GREAT!

relies upon on your definition of relaxing. you may desire to bypass on your community library and look into a commute e book on Washington DC for vacationer thoughts. verify with locals - perhaps greater classmen for relaxing issues to do. Georgetown use to be lots of relaxing on Halloween (do no longer stay there anymore so uncertain now)
