Call the credit card company and speak to a customer service representative. They will arrange for a change to your mailings.

The drawback will be how long you'll spend on hold, waiting to talk them!

If you have an active account with the credit card company then call the customer service number and ask them to stop sending you these offers.

If you are receiving these checks as enticements to start a new account with a different company, there will usually be an opt-out number somewhere on the form. By calling this number you will go through a process that will remove you from a number of pre-screen offers. It usually takes 4 to 6 weeks to process.

In the meantime, make sure you shred the checks you receive instead of disposing of them normally. Read the following two articles, both about the same story, to see what can happen to errant checks.

There are 3 ways to do this.
1) Refer to your credit card agreement. There should be an opt-out clause which may cover one or more of these mailings.
2) Call the toll free number on your card and get to a customer service rep. Tell them you do not wish to receive their promotional checks (which are almost always (HIGH RATE CASH ADVANCES).
3.) Go to their secure website and find "Manage My Account", and choose to opt out there if available.

Now, I get these almost daily and I shred mine. But NEVER, EVER, under ANY circumstances, mail them back or discard in the usual trash.

And be sure to stay alert for those phony email phishing scams.
If you don't know how to recognize them, post another question.

Best of luck.......

I know. I get those all the time from Discover. Well, hopefully if someone did try to cash one, the business would ask for ID and remember, we are not liable for unauthorized charges.
Sorry, I don't know if they can be stopped or not.
