How do I toilet train a 4 month old puppy who is used to going on newspaper?

I got my king charles when he was 7 weeks old but he got very sick so couldn't go outside. He trained on sheets of newspaper inside the back door. Now he is better and can go outside but comes back into go to the toilet. He goes sometimes outside and i reward him with praise and treats. How will I change this habit

If you got a dog TOILET trained, pat yourself on the back. If you can teach him to flush and wipe himself that would be an ADDED BONUS. My advice, see if you can't get him on a late night TV show(you're sitting on a goldmine-and I'm not talkin bout the toilet seat)!!!!! Continue to reward him with treats while you live in luxury off his paychecks!!! Best of luck!!!!

Get the papers out of the house. Don't even take them outside, that will just make him think he's still supposed to use them, inside or out. Simply start taking him EVERY hour and give him his potty command. Take a treat out with you and when he goes, praise and give the treat. When he has an accident inside, clean up with paper towels, then take them mess outside, show to the puppy and give the potty command (i use go pee).

Start by moving the papers closer to the back door, or wherever you would like him to go. Also, keep a close eye on him, and if he starts to go, grab him and run outside, then praise him like it was his idea in the first place. Eventually, he should figure out that outside is the best place to go.

try moving the paper outside and if he goes outside on the paper reward him. after a while start taking away some of the paper until he goes without it.

You have to move the paper outside and let him go on the paper outside, move it to the grass as he gets used to going outside.

Try filling the toilet with a bunch of ripped up newspapers. That worked on my husband
