As long as its not a narcotic or illegal, it won't show up. As long as you have a valid prescription, they can't do anything about it.

Most drug test consist of a panel of illicit drugs such as: marijuana, cocaine, meth, benzodiazipines, etc... It depends what the employer is willing to pay for. If you have a perscription from a doctor, then you have nothing to worry about; just take the bottle with you. No it's not a privacy issue. If employees are taking illegal drugs, employers have the right to know.

As long as you tell them you are taking a perscribed RX...there shouldn't be a problem. If you don't tell them about the perscribed RX, depending on what you are taking, 'they' could get a false-positive reading. When you sign a release form for the test, you give up your rights for them to know what you are taking.

Yes, it will show up, and yes, they will know what it is. If you have a prescription for it, it's not reported on the results. The lab will not tell the potential employer what was found in your drug test, it only goes into your confidential medical record.
The employer only sees a report which says "acceptable" (any drugs found are matched with a prescription) or "fail" (no prescription, or illegal drugs.)

The normal procedure is to list your medications on the form that accompanies your sample to the lab. The loss of privacy is one of those things you sacrifice for working in that job.

emmyducki has it pretty much right. If you test positive a MRO Medical Review Officer will contract you to see why. If you have a script your perfectly fine.
