Number one remember this, one bad news story does no justice to this island and its citizens. Not the as lush and beautiful as some of the islands but nice none the less. Its been a while since i was there but the Eagle Jeep Tour is awesome. you tour the Island in a 4x4. you drive!!!!! and you really hit some wild terrian. Bring old clothes for this trip you will be covered in dirt by the end!!! If you can get per certified for scuba if thats your thing lots of choices for good dives. The Island has a steady trade wind hence no hurricanes. dont let that fool you wear lots of sun block. hope this helps have a great trip<<>>

I own a timeshare on Aruba and have been there 10 times in the past 12 years. You'll need a passport for one. Leave all of what you have heard of Aruba behind and experience one of the nicest places to visit in the world. The people there are just the friendliest you can meet. Tourism is their biggest income producer so the Aruban people treat all visitors with the utmost respect. The Natalie Hallaway issue was an anomaly. I always feel safe there and have walked the streets after midnight with no issue. The restaurants are all top notch the casinos fun and the Beaches are great. The weather is spectacular all year long.
Have fun.

It's very windy, causing the famous divi tree to grow up leaning to one side (all the divi trees point in the direction of the wind)
It's also humid so you will need some clothes that let your body breath. You will feel it the second you're out of the airport. Heavy and hot humid air. The wind helps obviously but you definitely sweat.
Other than that, all the common sense about visiting another country (Aruba is Dutch-owned). The dollar is accepted, you can shop in grocery stores for your food, which is much cheaper than what hotels offer ( they do rip you off).

REMEMBER THEY USE A DIFFERENT MONEY FORM THERE AS WELL AS US DOLLARS. SO IF YOU ARE AT THE ATM MAKE SURE YOU SELECT THE RIGHT FORM TO WHICH YOU NEED. I LEARNED THAT THE HARD WAY AND IT WAS A PAIN TO FIND SOMEONE TO TRADE BACK THE ARUBA MONEY WITH THE US MONEY.

ALSO THE ISLAND IS COMPLETELY FLAT SO IT WILL BE CRAZY WINDY! HOLD ON TO YOUR HAT!
