I asked a question today about a puppy with a cold. I got an answer from a participant, who put me down saying I should have thought about not being able to afford care for my puppy before I got her. Just to let you know..and not that I care what you think of me...I saved her from a shelter, spent hundreds of dollars on getting her spayed, shots, vaccinations, toys, food, and countless hours of attention making her feel safe and wanted after being dumped by her previous owner. So after spending most of my earnings on her, she has now come down with a cold, and I was asking for help, not criticism...thank you very much.

I commend you on the choice to rescue! There are a lot of childish, self-righteous people on here. Just ingore them and look to the people on here who really care about the answers they give and the users who ask them.

I hope your puppy feels better soon! ;)

well, that is an unfortunate side effect of an open forum like this one. You will get a mix of good answers, bad answers, silly answers, rude answers, total B.S. answers.... you get the point. That's why you get to pick what you consider the best answer and comment about it! You will soon figure out that most folks here are not qualified experts, but will give you their opinion/experience because they want to help other dog owners. There are also some qualified experts here who want to help others, too. I've also seen a lot of bad advice from vet techs here (but they can never give a source or a site to read more, other than the fact that they work/ed for a vet). So take the rudeness with a grain of salt, there is still a lot of info and personal experience here.

Yes, I understand - we all get annoying answers.

The problem is - when you post on the Yahoo Answers - there is an element of "lowest common denominator" in both some questions and answers. You are opening it up to anyone who 1) has Internet access and 2) can type. That's a LOT of people. And while many of us do care and try to give thoughtful responses - many just don't care or are quick to jump to their own conclusions.

Best of luck with your puppy - she's a lot better off with you than in a shelter!

A lot of people use this place to make themselves feel better by putting others down, and love the fact that you can tell anyone else what to do. That's part of the addictiveness of it all.

The only thing you can really do is ignore it. It will never go away (rudeness is just one of those sad things the world tolerates) but just don't let it get to you. There are better people out there somewhere.

I generally don't deal with dogs medical conditions, and so I would like to suggest calling the vet to see what you should do. I wish I could give you a better answer, but I can't.

I know it is quite annoying and upsetting when you get someone that gets on their high horses and tries to pretend to know a situation without having a clue what is going on but, if you can ignore them and just mark their anwers as bad answers. Chances are; the person that wrote the inconsiderate answer is probably not even reading this.

You are a very casring owner and I comend you for what you have provided, but also there are far to many people out there who are cold and uncaring about about our animal friend, and those people need not to bad mouth the people who do care, good luck with your puppy I hope everything turn out OK

I don't think that telling you that was inconsiderate at all. Actually it's true. If you can't afford a vet and are asking how to medicate a puppy with meds designed for people in this forum (people that are not vets), then you will be questioned about your ability.

You should call your vet and ask about these things and ask about a payment plan or something.

good for you. i get a little tired of people being rude on here too, we are just looking for advice, not cruelty. most of the time we are worried about something and thats why we ask a question, it doesn't help to have people make us feel worse. i hope your puppy gets better soon!

Sometimes the correct answer to a question might not be what the asker wanted to hear. We all must distinguish between unpopular answers and correct answers in our daily lives. Don't take it personally, just examine the information and learn from it.

I encountered one of the answerer too! and I chose it as the BEST ANSWER, for what? for not even able to answer in a basic manner, so I award him/her! In e comments i wrote, i totally don't understand what he/she trying to refer me to or is he/she trying to critise me. Writing an answer down but for goodness sake only they could understand. So dont be bothered by them.. U are doing great!
