A segmented body consists of a repetition of body sections, for example a worm. Each section is the same internally, apart from the two ends. Humans are segmented too, look at our vertebrate!

In biology, it refers to the division of some metazoan bodies and plant body plans into a series of semi-repetitive segments, and the question of the benefits and costs of doing so. As such, segmentation is related to the more general concept of modularity.

Examples of segmented animals are the annelids and arthropods. Vertebrate vertebrae are also inherited in a segmented way, making it easy for those animals to adapt to have the correct number of these in their vertebral column. This has been extensively studied in mice. Among the plants, the horsetails are a clear example of segmentation.

This is Botany right? So I'd be answering your question in terms of thallus of bacteria, fungi, and algae; organisms also studied in Botany. Well this is just so simple, okay? You could call a segmented body also a septated body, when the thallus has cross walls or septa on it, dividing it into segments of filaments or hyphae (in Fungi and Algae); or simply filaments in Bacteria.

Well, bacteria seem not to be septate. Just wanna add this data for added information that Bacteria thallus like that of Oscillatoria are divided by separation discs making them look like segmented. These separation discs make up hormogones; specialized cells for asexual reproduction or fragmentation. Hope I helped. :-)

Segmented body is a characteristic feature of the animals belonging to annelida family. Under this feature the animal has segments all over the body. This presence of segment makes it possible for the earthworm and other animals of annelida family to breathe and do their work and survive.
