Use Mapquest or any good map program. First call up the map showing your current address and either school address. Print that, then call up a map using your current address and the other school 's address. Print the second map. The maps should have different mileages and travel times. Take the maps to the local school board office and, with this evidence, they should correct the situation.

This site will help work put distance for you, mainly a rough pedometer site, but, same difference. The instructions are all there, bus basically; Click "more options" then "UK";from the list box. Enter your town, when the map appears, enlarge to a workable size, click the "start recording" button. From there.you just double click your starting point and double click any point along the route you wish, the distance for each and all stages will be calculated in a box on the left.

Yes - use http://www.mapquest.co.uk

1. Under maps choose United Kingdom and enter your address and postcode. Then click on "Get Map"

2. when the map comes up you will see 4 blue links above it, one of these will say "Directions To" - click on that.

3. you'll be taken to a page with boxes to enter a starting address and ending address - choose UK on each, and fill in your home address in the starting one and the school's address in the ending one.

4. a page of directions between your home and the school will be returned, with the total distance at the bottom.

Hope this helps

Google earth.you can use the ruler function to measure a few feet or a thousand miles(or kilometers ,meters, yard, feet, inches)It's a free download, but takes a while. When youv'e got it the world's your oyster.Controls at top right of the screen are fab and you can save images in the 'file' drop-down menu.Have fun.
