Bee Luscious Cosmetics has a Moisturizing Creme Extreme. It is the most awesome stuff. It is not oily. It is very concentrated and you just put a bit on your finger tips. It makes your skin feel "baby powder fresh" but yet it is moisturized. I know sounds impossible but that's what it feels like. We get it on-line just do a Yahoo search for Bee Luscious Cosmetics. I don't know what stores might carry it. Be forewarned though it's not cheap but it works the best.

It helps to exfoliate 2-3 times a week, anything more then that might irritate your skin. This will help to remove dead, dry skin that tends to cause flakiness. Also, you want to ensure that you stay away from lotions that contain mineral oil as the molecular structure is too large to penetrate the pores of your skin, sitting on the top layer like saran wrap. These don't moisturize your skin, but rather give you a temporary feeling of softness. This is why we find ourselves reapplying lotion time and time again. It just gets wiped off over time and doesn’t benefit your skin. You want to stick with a water based product that will penetrate your dermis and deeply condition and hydrate your skin. If you're going to use a day crème, use one with a SPF of 8, nothing higher as this is too irritating for the skin on a daily use. You might want to try Arbonne's anti-aging day crème or intelligence moisturizer. They are botanically based, pure, safe, and beneficial. If you're open to trying a free sample, I'll be happy to send you one.

I too have a sometimes-flaky face. But I figured out how to rid it of this... EXFOLIATE. Find one you really like. Depending how flaky your face it, do it as much as you think it will help. For instance, in the beginning I'd use it twice a week (by the way, I use the Lancome exfoliator--works wonders) and now I only use it once. I also put night time cream on my face and in the morning, I use SPF moisturizing. It is so important to care for your facial skin! GOOD LUCK!

Omega 3 vitamins, 8-10 glasses of water, I won't show all the home remedies I use BTW, some are outa the ordinary but work alot, clear complexition and glowing skin. My skin sucks, so I've been through all types of products and techniques. Everyone's skin is different though, so what works for them, might not work for you. Funny to hear this from a man?!?!?!
Also, dry skin, is dead layers of skin, ever get chapped dry lips?! It's the same thing, dead dry skin, someone said above use exfoliates to help get those bad layers off and reveal fresh new skin.

Cleanse with a gentle non-drying cleanser. Spray your face afterward with mineral water and put moisterizer on when face is still damp. The best thing to use if you have dry flaky skin is to buy Yonka Gommage 305 & Yonka Lotion. The Gommage 305 is a gentle peel and it hydrates your skin and removes any flakiness. Then spray the Yonka Lotion on your face. You will be perfectly hydrated and your skin will look gorgeous. Trust me! I buy these products on Amazon.com.

I have the same problems. I try not to put foundation on this time of year unless I absolutely have to - I opt for a tinted moisturizer if I need light coverage.
Then, I moisturize several times a day with my regular stuff and then this stuff - Avon Moisture Therapy Extra Strength Cream http://shop.avon.com/shop/product.asp?pf_id=5906&from=search&find_spec=&camp=200705&dir_delivery=1&rep_delivery=1
On top of that all you can do is drink plenty of water.
