should he have rights to see his children? My girlfriends ex is all of the above and she has gone thru hell with the court system. The court orders him to rehab, he doesn't go, then he gets another extension at the next hearing. What is wrong with the system?

First an foremost is the safety of the children. I do not think for one second that a person that is a child molester has any rights to children. A drug addict can still love his child but may not have it's best interest at heart and could put the child into dangerous situations. NOW the child molester part.... THIS MAN SHOULD NEVER BE ALLOWED TO GET NEAR THE CHILD>>> EVER!
the system sucks... men (and women) get by with this $hit too often. If America actually punished child molesters, there would be a significant reduction in the amounts of abuse!
Sorry, soap box here.....

I think that a father that is all of the above should not only not see the child but should be in prison. I thought that it was illegal to molest a child. I think that the system is so screwed up these days that they should all go back to the way it was before in the old days hang those who are accused and convicted of a crime. I know that if it was my child that no matter what the law said that i would never let him or her see their father. I would rather go to jail for hiding them then let them get hurt anymore then they already were. Good Luck and i hope things work out for you.

They want the person to still have a life with their children. They believe that having two parents is more good than anything bad he does. It's horrible, they try to give equal rights, when it's not even the best for the child. Your girlfriend is going to have a hard time. My father sexually molested me for 8 years and they thought I was lying, and the military quickly hid this so it didn't get into the papers, like things do now. They are just trying to help this man, but hopefully they will see he is no good.

Well you can try to get visits suspended until he completes rehab ......but thank the liberals for that because drug abuse is now a disease .....not grounds for proving unfit ...unless the child is present while the use is going on and you can prove it , or if child services catches him using the drug ,in the presence of the child , then they can stop the visits ,until he completes rehab .... but with drug abuse now a disease , you have to prove beyond a doubt that it jeopardizes the safety and well being of the child....Good old democrats want everyone they can get to be diagnosed with a disease because a disease can only be treated with a prescription drug , and who controls the pharmaceutical
companies the good old FDA (fed govt.) the system is screwed up to protect the criminal to hug him, and embrace him , the unfortunate victims have top suffer all in the name of government Profits......Contact an Attorney , and the police to weigh your options ..you may come out better moving away.. far away he shouldn't have the money to fight it , and I doubt he will drive too far to see the child ....
AND do not blame the police for not doing their job ...the politics of today have the officers hands tied . If they do their job they will get sued ,and loose everything in their life ,and risk jail time also just for correctly doing their job

You won't like this - BUT why in the world did she conceive (not just one but at least two as you said children) with this guy? Come on now women have the responsibility to make better choices as to whom they conceive children with. Parentage is not something you can change after the fact.

The system is trying to preserve a parent child relatiionship. Maybe ill advisedly but they are probably giving him second and third chances because of the affect drugs have on a person.

Come on, if what you say is true (i feel you have no reason to lie) Then HECK NO, you don't risk children, if he is a molester, i don't like the idea of my child spending time unsupervised with him. He could recover from drugs, but I am not so sure about recovering from a sexual predator. I tell ya, I wouldn't risk my children to find out.

Good Luck you will need it.

The united states is a country where it is set up that you're innocent until proven guilty. And over time, that has turned into offenders getting multiple chances to straighten up, and the expense of their victims.

The only hope she has is of getting solid, indisputable proof that he has hurt the kids and/or is disobeying the courts orders.

Castrate the bastard and feed him his genitals. That should about cure any child molestor. The system was built by child molestors. drug addicts and deadbeats so the sytem won't help you.

Can she file a restraining order based on his past and current drug use? Also, she may want to go and file for sole custody of the kids if she hasn't yet!
