I have heard that and I tried it and it actually works. I drink a lot of coffee because my job is a bore but when I started dieting I read that coffee isnt good for that so I tried the apple thing and it worked just as well.

Apples are digested in the mouth, before the stomach, while coffee needs to be digested into the stomach's blood stream to take effect. It's the fructose in the apple which causes an almost instant energy rush. Most fruits do the same thing.

It's possible....I suspect that the chewing action would get the blood flowing to the muscles in the face and, by extension, to the brain. All the same, caffeine is a stimulant as well as a diuretic (makes you urinate), so as long as you are not taking it daily it should be very effective.

I like my coffee but it would be more effective if I didn't have so much caffeine in my diet. :)

I like coffee. I like apples. I like a lot of things. Why would I want to give up either?

I wonder if applesauce would have the same awakening effect. Maybe you could mix a bit of the sauce into your coffee. One cup of coffee in the morning cannot do any harm. I would not give it up.

No honestly I wouldn't change. I'm addicted to coffee! Knowing me, I'd just eat both...

The only way I would change is if I had enough motivation and willpower to change. I am not good at giving up my soda so this would not be enough to make me change.
