what do you do when your dad's birthday is coming up in 16 days and you can't even see him b/c he is away and wont be back til a week after his birthday?
my dad is a truck driver and often has to go on the road so we don't see him all that often. when he has to go really close to his birthday we have it the day before he leaves.
my dad won't be back and he left yesterday. we didn't get to throw a party for him b/c we couldn't afford it at the time. now i feel terrible. what do I do?

Call him on his birthday and sing "HAPPY BIRTHDAY" to him...do something together when he get's home....he understands how things are....

Don't feel so bad.Your father knows that you care,Am I right ?
You don't always have to throw a big party.A little one is fine.When he comes home,have the party.A cake and some ice cream and a gift (if you can afford it ) will be fine.But do call him
if possible on his birthday and sing the birthday song ! It will be fine.

Well first off make sure you speak to him on his birthday, That's a great start. Then you can make it up to him when he comes back. It doesnt; have to be big. Just from your heart. He iwll love that.

I would think an "I LOVE YOU DADDY" would be sufficient. And you might add, "when you get home, let's do something special, just the 2 of us"

Can you call him?if so,on his b-day-call him.He will like that.and when he gets home-suprise him!!wouldn't you like that?he will feel extra special,that is what you want right?
