DONT DO IT! if he loved you he would trust in you enough to know that you are not going to hurt him.... I think you have answered your own question but are too afraid to follow through ...... 'Im scared that im gonna become hurt in the end, if he does end up finding someone' ..... hey .. to me you sound like a woman who has self respect .. but just needs a push in the right direction ... Dont be afraid to let go .. you never know whats around the corner ... a month ago .. did you know he would lay that whammy on you? ... probably not .. so take the chance .. you dont know whats around the next corner :-)

Any man that loved you would never suggests friends with benfits. Men that suggest friendship along with sex only wants you for the benefits. He wants to be able to talk to all the girls he wants and still have you on the side. Smarten up and let him go! He doesn't love you, although he might love what you can do to and for him. If he truly loved you he wouldn't be putting you through this. It also seems to me you are already hurting...why prolong it?
As far as 'FWB's' that called getting what you want..but leaving your options open if something better comes along.
At this point, do you really want this guy? It doesn't sound like the situation is making you too happy.
Tell him 'thanks for the fwb offer...but I think I deserve a whole lot better'

he, in all honesty can't tell you he loves you if he doesn't want a relationship. that isn't love. he's had it his way for a year,i'd back off this jerk who only want's the benefits and see how hurt he really is. don't let him string you along. there are guys who would love to have a relationship with you.

the only and the best way for you is to cut it all off, tell him you two are so done, and you two need to move on, and to stop seeing each other... its better than getting you live in a dream that one day he'll come to you and tell you he want a relationship... it hurts either ways...
