How many serious devout "born again" Christians do you know? Most of the actions you are thinking of were committed by people who "claim" to be Christian, but are only members of some group, cult, or church. Many call the Crusades a Christian action, but a close study of historical documents will identify it as a Roman Catholic political move. This would be the same thing that radical Muslims do today and call it "holy" war.

Jesus Christ.

His true followers all over the world really have done this in our day:

"And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the LORD's house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it.
And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.
And he shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more."
- Isaiah 2:2-4, KJV

Also this:
"A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another."

AND
"This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you. Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends." - John 13:34, 35 & 15:12, 13.
