what ratings you can get is entirely dependnat on yoru Line scores as well as other qualifiers, such as normal color vision or ability to gain a Clearance. Your best bet is to sit down with a recruiter after taking the ASVAB and going over your line scores to see what you qualify for. then do you research on those ratings, and when you are ready to head to MEPS to signt he contract, you will be able to pick one.. based on what is available at the time. So don't go with only one or two chocies, pick out several.
the rating that is closest to computer Graphic design is MC..Mass Communciations Specialist. It is a new rating, comprised of a merger between PH, JO, LI and DM. The chances of you actually being abel to choose that rating is slim. It is full at the moment. besides, there is no guarentee that you would get the school that relates to graphic design anyway, they only GTY you the A school, not the C school.

If you like working with computers, or doing "art" related stuff, look into the JO rate (Journalism), the PH rate (Photography), the IT rate (Information Technology). Whatever you do, have an idea of what you want to do before you talk to the recruiter. Their job is to get you into the military, it is YOUR job to make sure you get the job you want. If it isn't on your enlistment paperwork, you WILL NOT GET IT! I was promised a school that I could "sign up for at boot camp", and that ended up being a crock of garbage.
They also have rates that offer bonuses for enlistment. If you are doing this for money for school, instead of taking the 5,000 dollars, or 10,000 cash bonus, ask for a Navy College Fund bonus. (usually 30,000 or 40,000). This actually gives you a "kicker" in addition to the GI Bill. If the GI Bill pays you 900 bucks a month for school, and you have the kicker, you'll get more like 1300 a month (just grabbing numbers, but you get the idea)

As others have pointed out... GET a GUARANTEED A-School to the rating of your choice !!
Mass Communications Specialist sounds right for you, it's a combination of the old Journalist (JO) and Photographers Mate (PH) ratings.
I can't HELP but pimp my old rating of AW (Aviation Warfare Systems Operator)... it requires Physical Qualification for flight duty, but it's a GREAT job !! You serve as flight crew for the SH-60 Seahawk or P-3C Orion... and you actually do quite abit of computer work. An abstract-brain is a big help on parts of the job.
Of course there is the benefit of Flight Pay, Swimmer Pay (if you go helicopters), and FLYING !!
I finished my BA during my first shore tour as well as my MBA... all on the Navy's dime !! I did my MA during my next sea-tour with a great liason thru UCSD.
Welcome aboard !!

Have you checked out what they have at: http://www.navy.com/careers/ or http://www.navy.com/careers/accelerateyourlife/lifeaccelerator/ ?
Those links are aimed at recruitment and helping you to decide, but they don't seem to be very detailed. If you want specifics on what each Navy Enlisted classification (job) is all about, go to some of the links below.
Make sure you know what you're getting into before you do it. You'll have to take a test to see which job(s) you're qualified to get trained in. Remember that anything they haven't guaranteed to you in writing is not guaranteed. Don't believe the recruiter every time he/she says "Oh, sure, you'll be able to...".
I did my research, held out for what I wanted, got it, and was never disappointed. Good luck, have fun, hope it works out for you.
PS
Note that the JO and PH ratings no longer exist. If those are the sort of jobs you might be interested in, you want to look into the MC (Mass Communications Specialist) rating.

There's journalists, computer tracking stuff, Services where they put out newspapers and goings on at the base. I would discuss your options with a recruiter, and if you don't like what they say, get a second opinion. DON'T DON'T DON'T go in hoping that you get a good job (open general). Many people get screwed this way, try to get guaranteed a job that you want. If you have to wait, it's worth it, I promise you...

most of the "cool" non technical jobs are closed. all the MC (mass communication) photographer, journalist style jobs are full. Depending on your asvab score there are a lot of cool technical jobs that are open. Don't go undesignated. Just see what the classifier has available to you, and take the best one. If nothing sounds good then don't sign the contract.
