Why in the world would you give a dog soda? Do you realize that it could potential kill a dog. It could make the dogs stomach flip. It's a science project not a torture experiment.

Not very good science project. Don't test on animals but my pug loves sprite when she accidentally gets into my cup. Nothing has ever happened not even the burps or gas.

Ummmmmm......what happens when we give you soda?
You end up ingesting, depending upon the brand of soda, LOTS of sugar in different forms (unless it's diet soda, then it's aspartame), some caffeine perhaps, lots of bubbles, and perhaps some chemicals for flavor and/or color.
Not much happens, short term. Long term, or LOTS of soda, is not a good thing.

I once gave a pit-rottie mix that I used to have, Bear, the rest of my 7-Up, because I couldn't finish it. I dumped out his dirty water, put the soda in it, and set it back down. He licked the soda once, then turned, lifted his leg, and peed in the bowl. Apparently, he didn't like it.

Yeah, I would advise you not to do that. Dogs react differently depending on what type of breed your friend has. Drinking diet Coke and eating Mentos is supposed to do something.

I wouldn't try it. There are a lot of things out there that we ingest that are no good for dogs. You could call a vet for a definate answer.
