Hair color does not determine who you are.

Ah to be young again, your question is adorable. If you are of Asian decent then yes, you can be blonde and Japanese. In fact, many Asians dye their hair various shades.

However, if you are not of Asian decent, then you will only be considered a Japanese citizen once you've achieved citizenship (which takes awhile).

Japan is an amazing country. Hang onto your dream of living there. Once you're settled in, you will never regret a single moment.

Your hair color has nothing to do with your genetic background. If your parents are Japanese and you dyed your hair purple you would still be Japanese, understand? I'm wondering if you mean if you dyed your hair blond would be you be considered Americanized? Sure. But unfortunately people pick up diiferent aspects of American culture everywhere. They are very few places that our influence doesn't touch. So you'll be just fine wherever you go. It's really how you feel about yourself and if dying your hair blond is a way for you to express yourself, go for it. Living in a different culture doesn't mean you have to mold yourself to be like the majority. Be comfortable with who you are and people have no choice but to accept you.

If you are Japanese by ethnicity, nothing can change that. The color of your hair does not change ethnicity. Blond hair will make you look non-oriental - - - but only looks. You'll still be Japanese.

well, are you Japanese? then probably not.

if you mean could you be accepted by the Japanese people and treated 'as if' you were Japanese, it could happen.

but you might never be considered Japanese. if you like the culture and want to go there, just go. it'll work itself out.

If you are Japanese, that is what you are. Your hair color does not matter. People dye their hair all the time.
