I am not getting a dial tone anymore on my phone even when I use the same connection that I get my ADSL service from. The phone company technician confirmed that the phone/internet service is working to the NID (grey box on the outside of the building) but I am not getting any phone service inside my apartment, no matter where I connect my phone. If you call my fixed line phone you will hear it ringing but my phone is just completely lifeless! Do you think that my internal phone wiring may be faulty?

Easy - unplug all phones & filters - connect known good phone to first socket in chain & test. DSL wont work if bad wiring - so most lightly faulty phone/filter - or a analogue filter has been placed on the line - cancelling voice - or - not paid your phone bill ;)

there is not any thank you to connect them during the modems until you located each and every and each device good right into a different connection telephone outlet and enable one to dial different. without the 50 v line voltage and signalling it won't artwork. in spite of everything ti could take hours to pass some advice, dialup connections are VERY slow. be unsleeping additionally that any present day-day advice on an XP device on the prompt at the instant are not liable to be ANY use on a ninety 5 device, it grew to become already a ineffective working device long until now XP grew to become released. additionally the disk sizes on ninety 5 have been VERY small so there will be little section for present day-day document sizes. seems an exceedingly pointless workout ordinary to me. Alsp, a ninety 5 device could be good for now is in case you besides to mght had a rope, it could make an outstanding anchor.

Your DSL needs only one wire to work, while dial tone needs both legs of wires, so if you have a broken wire anywhere and only one wire is still connected your DSL will do just fine while your dial tone will not work. Check the site below for more helpful information:

if it is the only phone in your apt., your phone could be bad and/or the phone cord could be defective too. It can ring when you call, because it is ring thru the central office, but because it is open some where, it cannot ring your phone, I think you might have a bad dsl filter or defective phone... try your phone without the filter at a friend or neighbors' house..
