If you are new to dictation, it may help to begin by using notes or handwritten ideas. These aids will help you to gather your thoughts before speaking. With practice, you should get better at dictating to a machine and maybecome very good at dictating without the use of printed materials.
When dictating, try not to look at the computer screen since this may distract you from your thoughts and cause you to loose concentration. The computer will attempt to transcribe everything you say. So, make sure you think about it first before saying it.
The process for converting your thoughts into text is very different when "typing" than when "dictating" to a computer. In order to maximize the accuracy of the speech recognition software, the speech program will attempt to adjust the spellings of words based on the context of the sentence that it hears. In other words, speech programs analyze entire phrases or sentences, not just individual words. This is why you will often see nothing on the monitor/screen until just after you stop speaking. It takes a few seconds for the computer to figure out what you were saying.
If you don't think about what you are going to say before you say it, you may end up just blabbering on about the topic but not really saying anything important. If you were to stop in mid sentence, this would reduce the ability of the software to accruately transcribe what it heard.
Therefore, dictation into a computer will work most efficiently when you learn to form each sentence in your head before speaking it.

It's very possible to learn to sing well. You just need to know the right methods. Learn here https://tr.im/LqQYR
Singing teachers will cost money and can be expensive so they're not for everyone. Singing can be learned so it's not an "either you have it or you don't" kind of thing.
Whether you sound like crap or you're decent, I recommend this singing course. It's one of the best methods to learn to sing well in a short amount of time. It's all about using efficient techniques that work.

Welcome to the club. As I am hearing impaired, my speech is not normal. The Windows Speech to text is very limited and is not "trainable". Purchase a "real" program, such as "Naturally Speaking", and you will be able to train it for your voice. As you use it, every time it makes a mistake, you can correct it. Over a couple weeks time it will learn how you speak, and the errors will be reduced.

I am not sure if MS word 2007 supports it.. But you can do it easily in Vista into any tool (including vista). You can refer to
1) http://msdn.microsoft.com/msdnmag/issues/06/01/speechinWindowsVista/
2) http://www.microsoft.com/windows/products/windowsvista/features/default.mspx
