Che, Fidel, all these guys were raised by Jesuits and admired their teachers. If not for the liberal Catholic tradition they were taught there would have been no revolution. Whether the revolutionaries were or remained theists, their motvation to seek social justice came from Catholic school, not from studying Marx.

I found "Fidel and Religion:Fidel Castro in Conversation with Frei Betto" by Armando Hart and Frei Bretto fascinating.

You need to do your homework about Che - the people he grew up with, the place and time in which he grew, who his friends were.

Were it not for his religious faith in the first place, he would never have gotten involved in revolution at all.
