Do you count your dogs age by months or weeks?

Question

For example, when your dog is 16 weeks, would you also say he is 4 months old? Or 3 and 1/2 months? Since up to 2 days can be added each month, as he gets older the difference between the number of weeks and months grows larger, how do you calculate?

A lot of people say their dog is 6 months old, which would translate to 24 weeks. However, it is closer to 26 weeks.

by "weeks" my puppy is 19 weeks old.

by "months" he is 4 months and 2 weeks old.

I usually refer to my dogs age in weeks until they are 20 weeks old. After that, I switch to months.
The reason for this is that puppies have so many developmental changes in the first 16-20 weeks and they slow down some after that, so the difference is not as crucial.

When they are under 6 months old I usually count the weeks, once they are 6 months to 2 years old I am using months, after that years. Unless I am counting weeks until the next vaccination I would probably go with the 4 months is around 16 weeks.

First of all that avatar is so cute. My puppy is 2 days old new to me. but he is 9 weeks old. I guess after 3 months I will be using the months term.

I count in weeks up to 6 months than I switch to months until 2 years than they are full growth adults and I go by years. If that pictureis your dog OMG it is soooooo cute.

when he was apuppy I counted months and weeks (i.e. He is 4 months and 2 weeks). Now i count by years.
