George forman grill cooked steak is the best i ahve had, it cooks both sides at same time so less time and nice and succulent, not too tough.
best served with chips, onion rings and tomatoes and mushrooms. even better with a nice peppercorn sauce (packet can be bought)
If u wanted to go for a healthier side, try jacket potato with a nice crisp salad, depends what u prefer, tradition or healthy.

Hope u both enjoy.x

Here is the best way I have found to cook steak at home:

Pan Seared T-Bone Steak

1 1/2 pounds bone-in T-bone steak
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
1 tablespoon canola oil

Preheat the oven to 450 degrees F. A half-hour before cooking, remove steak from refrigerator.

Heat a large skillet over high heat. Pat steak dry and season generously with salt and pepper. Add oil to hot skillet and when it begins to smoke add steak. Reduce heat slightly and cook steak until browned, about 4 minutes on each side. Transfer skillet to the oven. Roast until an instant-read thermometer inserted sideways into the steak registers 120 degrees F for medium-rare, about 6 to 8 minutes. Transfer steak to a cutting board and let it rest for 10 minutes. Cut steak from the bone and carve meat across the grain.

This technique can be used with other cuts of steak. Ask your butcher for advice.

If you don't have a meat thermometer, then here's another way to gauge doneness:

1. Hold your hand out flat & poke the flesh between your thumb and index finger. It should be soft but springy - that's the way a RARE steak feels.

2. Make a loose, relaxed fist. Poke the same area. It still has a little give. That's how a MEDIUM steak feels.

3. Make a tight, hard fist. Poke the same area. It doesn't give and feels very firm. That's how a WELL DONE steak feels.

The meat will continue to cook from the residual heat so take it off the heat a little before you reach the desired level of doneness.

Suggested sides: baked potato (easy & you'll have oven almost pre-heated for steak), sauteed mushrooms or steamed green beans or salad.

Dessert: sorbet or strawberries (something on the light side since steak is so rich)

It is always best not to fry steak as it absorbs all the fat which can tend to make the meat tough. You can grill the steak on a grid which allows the fat to drop into the drip tray. If the steak has fat on the side then you must slice into the fat at 2cm intervals so that the meat does not curve when cooking. If you really want to impress then buy your meat from a butcher. It must be steer and not cow as steer is far more tender. Buy rump which has been matured for about 24 days. It will be tender and tasty. Never buy meat that is bright red as it will be tough and has not matured.

You can smear a bit of mustard very thinly on either side, season with a steak spice and then make a separate sauce. This can be mushroom, BBQ or pepper.

If you grill on high, make sure it is not too close to the grill as it can burn quickly.

Good luck and have a good one!

I have made this numerous times, and everyone loves it!!!
FOR THE STEAK--combine and press on: 2 T. brown sugar, 1 1/2 t pepper, 1/2 t salt, 2 rib-eye or strip steaks.
FOR THE SALAD--toss together: 3 c romaine, 1/2 c cherry tomatoes, 1/3 c bleu cheese
SAUTE, DEGLAZE & FINISH with: 4 strips minced bacon, 2 T minced shallots, 1/3 c reed wine vinegar, 2 t brown sugar, 1 t dijon mustard, salt, pepper, 2 T olive oil
Prehaet oven to 450, heat an oven proof non-stick skillet over medium heat.
Press sugar mixture onto both sides of steak the sear on 1 side til brown, (about 5 min), flip and sear on other side about 2 min, then transfer to oven to finish (about 8 min for med-rare). Remove steak and let rest 10 min.
Toss together salad while steak is in the oven.
Saute bacon in small skillet until crisp, add shallots and cook til soft. Deglaze with vinegar, whisk in brown sugar, mustard, salt and pepper. Finish vinegrette with oil and keep warm.
Drizzle vinegrette over both steak and salad. Serve with baked or double baked potatoe. Bon Appetite!!

If you have a grill there is a cookout calculator at charcoalbob.com that you can use to determine the right grilling time for each steak based on the type of meat, gas or charcoal grill, doneness you want etc. It will also give you instructions for how to grill steak and has other grilling tips.

Good luck.

Either chuck it in a frying pan for a few minutes (about 10) turning occasionally, or put it under the grill (slightly healthier).

Chuck some oven chips and a bit of salad on the side and you'll be laughing.

Have a good evening.

nice and simple.. griddle the steaks then when done serve up and when they're resting melt some stilton in the griddle pan and liberally pour over the steaks. serve with chips/roasted potato crackles (crunchy cubed and herbed potato) and serve with rocket as a side. wash down with a full bodied red wine...
darn it that's me done deciding what I'm cooking tonight! :o)
