Personally I'd wait until he is home with you. A name usual pops into your head once you start to bond.

I have a choclate and tan boy and girl Chihuahua, and mine are named Fudge and Reese. I like the food names. I have also heard of people naming them Cola, Coke and Pepsi. I also like Hersey, Snickers, Coco, Mocha, Brownie, Coffee, and other choclate colored food names are my favorite. I am sure you will find a name that fits your pup, and I am sure the name will be as cute as your pup.

The usual chihuahua names - Chico, Chuy, Pancho, Beto, Rudy, Pepe, etc.

"Chuy" is pronounced "chewy" which may be just right for a puppy. I also like "pepe" which is pronounced "peppy" - good name for any little guy.

Pedro

Than buy him a shirt that says vote for Pedro. How cute.

I also like the names Chuy and Angel (an-hel).

Or name him after my husband Rodrigo. It means warrior.
