PRN means "as needed" Your not guaranteed any certain amount of hours. If they need you to work they will call you in. Your not obligated to work a certain amount of hours and they're not obligated to give you a certain amount of hours.

I'm a nurse. I the medical field it means as needed, think of it as the same. This is a temporay/on-call postion. Take care.

It means "as needed" You would be filling in, but hey, it's a foot in the door.

prn = when necessary..
if it is prescribed 3times a day / prn, you can take the dose when necessary limited to 3 times per day..it doesnt matter if you only take one dose or two dose for the whole day..but one thing you must observe is the standing time between each individual doses...
