I've seen Humans literally worship Kings, Queens, Celebrities, Sports Stars, Popes, Spouses, and more who could never give them eternal life, and so much more. Or what about those people who PAY strangers for the pleasure of worshiping them??

With the exception of parents, the above people rarely know the people who worship them, and do nothing personally for them. Yet people worship them freely, but God who gives us everything, and promises eternal life and more is called cruel and egotistical??

Whether people want to admit it or not, human parents choose to have children so they will be loved, looked up to, admired, and have the Gift of giving love, protecting, and teaching a child created from themselves. There is no difference, other than the fact human parents are less deserving of our love because God created them too. Were it not for God no one could have children.

Also, for those of you who will say parents do not have children to love them, you either don't have children, or are not being 100% honest. If parents only had children to GIVE love, why have birth children at all?? There are MILLIONS of children alive right now who have no parents. Why not adopt a child just to GIVE love? A truly loving parent, desires children to feel a bond, connection, and sense of love from a child who is a part of them.

So why do you think people who worship humans have a problem with worshipping God? Thanks

P.S. There is nothing wrong with parents having children and wanting to feel love for them, as long as they are open to loving and giving love unconditionally to that child.
Receiving and Giving love is the most beautiful feeling in the world. One can not fully love if they are UNABLE to RECEIVE love.

Hi Justforgiven, I didn't say God "makes us love him". We must choose to love Him with Free Will. However, He did create us to love, worship, and glorify him.

Matthrew 22:37 - Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.

Because God...to them...represents authority. They can't live the way their flesh wants them to live.

We live in submission to the Father......we still sin because we are human....but Christ has redeemed us from the curse of death by His blood.

Because the Christian deity is not loving. The people I love are of much better moral fiber and have better character than that horror.

The whole reason I left Christianity as a young child was because I believed with my whole heart the the sign on the church wall that said, "God is Love," but I recognized immediately, at the age of 5, that the deity described in the Bible was not. Therefore I decided then that the religion was false, but I can carry the knowledge and belief in Love with me in my own spirituality, without the structure and falseness of the church and that religion.

You can call that love of God if you want to, but I am far beyond being able to believe in deities as you define them.

Most parents I've met have children because they can't keep it in their pants, love had nothing to do with it.

Since that is the main reason we were created, and we are made in the image of God, it should be expected.

God wants us to love Him, but for you atheists, He doesn't force His love on anyone.

I do not worship anything. Sure, I admire people. But worshipping a person, and especially an imaginary fairy tale god, would be a waste of my valuable time.

GOD wishes that all people be saved. Which is to come to the full knowledge of who he is and who we are in relationship to Him.

God's not supposed to be human, is he? Trouble is, gods are always imbued with mundane human attributes such as anger, jealousy, cruelty, egotism and so on, which is not surprising as they are invented by humans.

You're basically asking the moral question, "Hey, if god wants to make us to love him, this is not immoral, is it?" No, no it wouldn't be.

However, your question holds the assumption that we are created beings, and there is no evidence at all that we are.
