Whether this Jesus lived or not... that's not the issue. There is no god, that is the issue. If jesus lived, he was a man, not a god.

I didn't think they were Jesus's bones to begin with! I don't think Jesus ever existed as ONE person. I think he's actually the combination of a bunch of people from that time line, compiled into one. There is no body, because there never WAS one!

Perhaps you did not notice but it's not the atheists that were very interested in the so-called bones of Jesus. Some just said that christians will just go into denial, wich is exactly what happened.

Just because they have found bones that might be Jesus, doesn't mean anything. Jews believe that Jesus was real. It's not a question of Jesus being real, it's a question of how he came to be, and if he is truely the son of God.

I'm an atheist and I think they are almost certainly not the bones of Yshua bar-Ysef who created the ideology that Paul later codified into Christianity.
So what? That doesn't provide any more evidence FOR the existence of a deity, so I'm still an atheist.

Anyway just a crackpot theory since you guys like to believe in them

To quote the remarkable Mr. Holmes: "Data! Data! Data! I can't make bricks without clay."
The documentary hasn't even aired yet. Until I am at least able to hear the hypothesis of the filmmakers, see their evidence, and have time to read the responses of people able to speak with authority on such things, I remain skeptical but open. If it proves to be a hoax, I will be neither surprised nor discomfited.

The finding of Jesus's bones proves the second coming is at hand. Jesus is preparing his return by returning his bones to earth so he can use them upon his return.

I do not believe in god. I think there may have been someone called Jesus at one time, but I do not believe all that stuff about him being the son of god, and...what was it...oh yeah. 'Our Savior.' So yes, there may have been a man called Jesus who did some good things. But god and all those fairy tales, it amazes me that anyone can even imagine that is true.

I never was convinced that they found the bones of Jesus of Nazareth. They probably will never find them since he was only one of how ever many people who were in Jerusalem at the time. If they do find them, they will probably not be able to prove that they are his. That isn't the point. It is up to you Christians to prove that God exists, that the Bible is the word of God, and that Jesus of Nazareth is the son of God.

Once again, Atheists don't care one way or another if those are, or aren't his bones. Atheists DO NOT deny that Jesus was real. He was just a man though.
