I don't think that churches serving junk food equates into "all we eat." You state moderation. So don't eat so much. By the way there is guy that was featured on a TV program who has eaten a Big Mac everyday for the last 15 years. And guess what? He is about 5'9" and weighs about 160 lbs. Junk food is only junk if we over do it.
So if I have meat loaf, with mashed potatoes, and 2 slices of bread, and homemade pie this is different than 1 big mac, 1 fry, and a coke? And 2 Twinkies?
And, so much for the bake sales, eh?

Just like in life, you have a choice between good or bad. I'm sure the people in church know better and if they want to eat right, then it's their choice to nourish their temple of God with the right foods.
I understand what you're saying also, the people at church should encourage that by not serving junk foods....

Hebrews 5: 12For even though by this time you ought to be teaching others, you actually need someone to teach you over again the very first principles of God's Word. You have come to need milk, not solid food.
13For everyone who continues to feed on milk is obviously inexperienced and unskilled in the doctrine of righteousness (of conformity to the divine will in purpose, thought, and action), for he is a mere infant [not able to talk yet]!
14But solid food is for full-grown men, for those whose senses and mental faculties are trained by practice to discriminate and distinguish between what is morally good and noble and what is evil and contrary either to divine or human law.
Churches that serve junk food are probably not Spirit filled churches. Not yet anyways. The leaders of the church always need prayer, they are the shepherds of the flock. Breakthrough starts with them.
BE BLESSED AND REJOICE IN THE LORD!

Do you mean, Why do they serve natural food that has been processed so that all the nutritive value has been leached out of it, mixed with other nutritionless food so that you can't recognize the original? Why not serve it along with thier twisted, watered down, and polluted interpretations of scripture?

Ever been to a fundamentalist Christian church and seen all those fat toad women that ride around on their wheelchairs cause they're too fat for their legs? They need their junk food or they might lose a pound during the service,God forbid.

Most churches don't serve food. If its pot luck, then individuals bring what ever they want. Not everyone is watching what they eat.

The only food I got in a church was the nasty little circle thing that tasted like cardboard.

Churches also sell religious swag, and require proof of 10% tithes for membership. I remember jesus trashing places like that.
