Well i dont know where he came up with that stuff, but it doesn't come from the Bible. Seriously, i know so many Christians who find Christ after changing from being Catholic. God doesn't want ritualistic worship, he wants a real relationship with you. I know how a Catholic church can push people away from God, but give Christianity a chance before turning to the doctorin of some random guy. Look for yourself to see what the bible says, its no secret. It is translated all the time to make sure it is easy as possible to understand.

To directly answer your question, There is a real heaven and a real hell, and the only way to get to heaven is to believe in Jesus. I dont care what anyone tells you, how unpopular the idea is or how un-PC but that is the only truth.

I believe you are close! And here is why.

The bible states that God is in the Heaven of Heaven's. That's plural; so how many heavens are there?

No man gets to the Heaven of Heaven's with-out first living and growing in the Heaven of Jesus Christ. Our heaven. Stated another way...

God is is in the Universe of Universe's and Paradise is the Heaven of all Heavens, or the Universe of all Universe's.

As we evolve inwards towards God we are actually moving closer and closer to the first source and center of all creation-Paradise.

The mansions in the fathers house are places of education and a place or places to grow spiritually. These places are planets designed to rehabilitate the souls who have been harmed by distortions created by lies from the fallen ones in our part of the Heaven of Jesus Christ; the son of God. We are known as the World of the cross, do you know why?

I could go on; therefore, I would like to leave you with this:
Fore those who think they know the bible ponder this: is Lucifer and Satan different entities, and who is Beelzebub?

Never stop searching for the truth.

Peace......

So the reason you went to jail was not stupid after all: it was to meet someone who would rekindle your search for God. Whether he was right or wrong is secondary.

Your friend was right in that nobody dies; we are Soul, a spark of God, and we share the attribute of immortality with God. When we are done with this physical world (at death, that is), we discard the physical garment we call body and the real image of God, or Soul, moves on to the next level of heaven.

Remember, "In my father's house there are many mansions"? Yes, there are indeed many levels of heaven, starting from the lowest which is the physical world. So in the next level to the physical, Soul may stay there for the continuation of Its lessons or It may return to the physical. It all depends on what the Soul has learned. (Generally, a level of heaven is better than the one below).

The whole idea is that Soul will eventually learn enough of the subject of divine love that It will go to the much higher heavens to stay permanently and have the opportunity to co-work with God.

To answer your question, I have never heard this explanation. While I may not choose to follow that myself I give you a lot of credit for trying to learn more about God and deepen your faith. I am sorry to hear that you did not have a good experience with school, but the Catholic faith is beautiful. God bless you on your new journey.

To Corey (who was one of the people who answered) I am Catholic and I have a real relationship with God. Who are you to say that Catholics don't have a real relationship with God? The Catholic faith is beautiful if you know anything about it, which I'm guessing you don't. You say that you know many Christians who have left the Catholic faith. I also know many Catholics who converted from other religions (it goes both ways). I am always respectful of other people's religions and I don't think it's a good idea for you to trash someone else's faith. I would never trash yours.

I know lots of people who were saved in jail... in fact, they're some of the most encouraging Christians I know!

I've never heard salvation explained this way before, and I don't wish to criticize you or your mentor, but where is he basing his beliefs from? I'm concerned that he made this up, and in that case, are you willing to place your faith and salvation in the hopes that he is right?

I'm a Christian, and I'm well aware of the bad rap we have of being "pushy", so I won't push you. :) I am concerned though, and I think God is working on your heart, you should be searching thoroughly for the truth.

Everyone is capable of being saved... God is not willing that any should perish, but that all should be saved.

In the Bible, John 3:16 tells us that God so loved the world that He gave us His only begotten son that we may have eternal life. This is a gift from God to all believers that accept Jersus as their savior. Heaven is a place that we can never earn on our own, so God gave us a way through his Son to be with him there.
God Bless

Substitute what the guy said with Buddha instead of Christ, it fits the Buddhist too. As long as you understand you are in control and doing good deeds transcends yourself to a better world, it is a good belief.

whatever makes you stronger personally and gives you a reason to be a respectable person (keeps you out of jail) should be good enough. If you believe in god, it seems reasonable to assume he/she/it wants you to be happy with yourself as long as you don't hurt others in the process. If what you heard from that guy fits that criteria then it is worth a shot.

The guy you met in jail is not a believer in Christ. Nothing he said is in keeping with Jesus teachings. He apparently is a wolf in sheep's clothing. Also, he might be crazy
I'm serious, dude! It just doesn't line up!
