Then why are the things that He did (raising men from the dead, water/wine, etc.) still considered miracles to this day? I get that it was astonishing at the time, but if we believe that Jesus was God then aren't these relatively minor accomplishments for someone that created man to begin with? Not to mention, created the entire universe? Wouldn't you expect an entity that could create a universe to be able to bring a mere human back to life? Why is this a 'miracle' instead of just a normal act of God?

To some religions Jesus is God. For some, Jesus was God's son, for some Jesus was a prophet.
I do read the Bible, and I do know the definition of miracle.

I agree. It was a normal act of God that Jesus did while He walked among us. He did tell the disciples if they would believe they could do greater miracles than He did. Great faith accomplishes many great things even today. Only a few arrive at this great faith. Too many doubt the words of Christ and without faith it is impossible to please God.

You are right, Jesus Christ (Peace Be Upon Him) was NOT GOD, instead he was a messenger of GOD.
Creating the entire Universe, fashioning the entire creation, feeding the entire organisms are GREATER miracles than raising alive from dead.
(NOTE: Miracles performed by Jesus Christ (PBUH) were NOT done by his will, instead they were performed by GOD through him)
A greater miracle is the feeding for the entire creation.
What job does the honey bee, Dog, micro-organisms & the blue whale do???
All the organisms except man are unemployed yet they get their sustenance without much 'Troubles' that we humans face to earn a livelihood.
It is all by the will of Almighty GOD. Therefore this miracle is much greater than that performed by GOD through Jesus Christ

It is an act of God = miracle
the Webster dictionary says that miracle means " an extraordinary event manifesting divine intervention in human affairs; an unusual event, thing or accomplishment: wonder: marvel" So yes Jesus did perform miracles. Moses performed miracles with the grace of God. Jesus didn't need the grace of God because He is God.

I don't want to critisize because people have their own beliefs on this issue but this is what I believe. First of all to my understanding and what I have learned through my Christian background is that Jesus is a part of God because God was His Father. Jesus is not God but God's son. God the Father created the universe not Jesus. God created Adam and Eve in His own image not Jesus. "I AM THE ALPHA AND THE OMEGA" God said. which means "I AM THE FIRST AND THE LAST". God was first. God created the earth in 6 days and made the 7th day Holy not Jesus. Jesus didn't come till much later in God's creation. Read Genesis. God also spoke to Moses "Burning of the Bush" which to me would be a miracle in itself. And hearing God's voice! Look at the Ten Commandments. Now if that isn't a miracle I don't know what is. The finger of God writing down the Laws! Can you imagine the thoughts of Moses when he witnessed God writing His laws for His people/children? If I had been Moses at that time, I'd be peeing down my pant legs and my mouth wide open for any bug or creature to fly in and be in shock and dismay for days! Now when Jesus was born, His Father (God) wanted His son to teach the people of His laws and teachings. God couldn't do it Himself so He created His son to do His bidding for Him. Why? Because people wouldn't understand if a spirit form came down to earth to do the teachings. People would have not listened nor paid attention plus they probably would have been scared out of their wits. Moses could do so much and God knew this and this is probably why God chose to have a son to do His teachings and miracles. This way people could see God's teachings in the flesh so do speak instead of hearing voices that one could not see. Now when Jesus started His teachings of His Father, I imagine that there were alot of people that were skeptible. So God gave the miracle powers to His son so Jesus could demonstrate on what His Father could do so people could/would believe. When you read or hear of what God can do with His powers it's not considered a "miracle" because God can do anything because He is God. But since Jesus was the son of God and in physical form instead of spiritual form then it's called a "miracle" because Jesus was in a sense human not spirit. And since humans don't have the powers such as God has then it's called a "miracle" of God. I hope I have made some sense and haven't confused you more. This is my way of understanding. Hope this has helped. Have a Blessed day.

Jesus has the spirit of God since he is the son of God and believe it or not, we all have a spirit of God in us because we are His creation. When God acts on something, its a shocking experience to our eyes that he can wipe the entire land with floods of rain and give strength to mankind that they can part seas, help the blind see, the limp to walk, the deaf to hear, etc. What makes you think that those miracles and acts of God weren't tied together or have the same meaning. Jesus has done all these things except floods of rain because that wasn't what he was born to do. He was brought on earth to show and do the promises and purpose of God. God had promised to bring blessing and redemption through Jesus Christ.

Great question.
Jesus is the son of God, not God himself. That's why his amazing deeds were in fact miracles...they were being performed by a devine man. If he was God, he wouldn't have said: "father, why hast thou forsaken me?" when he was on the cross. Was he asking himself for help?
It's human nature to raise someone to God like stature when that person is so beloved The problem with that is that the truth gets lost. He WAS wonderful, but he wasn't the creator.

We are amazed because GODs glory is magnificent and awe inspiring from making a gourd grow to shade Jonah, to creating the universe. it is only when one appreciates the smallest of GODs miracles that the biggest ones can be comprehended.

Those were signs to the people of the time from the Holy Spirit to prove that He was from God ,not just some guy.God had been pretty silent for 500 years before that and people weren't used to seeing acts like that.

I was just looking this morning at a book Billy Graham gave me. It quotes many Bible verses. In it, I see Jesus said he was God, the Son of God and the Son of man. That is really "having your cake and eating it too". This seems contradictory to me, but True Believers are blind to contradiction.

Perhaps it is in the definition of a miracle.
A miracle is the direct intervention of God.
When Jesus was doing these things it was His direct intervention.
Thus a miracle.
