There are many Christians who seem to give more weight to one or two things meantioned in the Old Testament rather than to what a Modern minded Jew who performed miracles did: Turn water into the 'very best' wine.
So why would drinking a few glasses of the 'very best' wine be a sin when Jesus himself actually MADE the stuff?
Are you going to say he didn't drink his own creation now?

Fundamentalism appeals to a segment of the population that think in concrete terms, black and white. They have to have rules in order for them to behave correctly. Since many of them are prone to drink too much they have the rule that they can not drink at all. They are the children in the faith. When they grow up they can have a little wine now and then.

The bible does not say it is wrong to drink wine or any alcoholic beverage. However, it does say that drunkenness is wrong. It is like anything else. A Christian must be balanced and in full control of their senses. Gluttony is also wrong. It shows a lack of self control and greediness. The same can be said with alcohol if someone is getting drunk.

I believe the Southern Baptist are some of the ones who think it is wrong to drink. I lived in Kentucky for 3 years in a town that was dry. No alcohol. Of course, it did not stop people from drinking. They just drove to the next county and bought it or you still had bootleggers. Reminded me of the movie Footloose.

I do not understand it myself. Wine is used all through the Bible. and if one looks at the history of the time it was real wine not grape juice. all things should be done in moderation but unless you are a pastor or Elder drink responsively!

Let go of your hate toward Christians and stories about wine... seriously.

Some have wine and some don't. Big deal. Let it go.
