Hindus do not want force their religion on others or is it they want to have a low profile of their spirituality, here Christians and Muslims show off their religion all the time.

It's because Hinduism respects the diversity of beliefs, unlike Islam and Christianity, and thus doesn't get a high profile.

Also, western civilization is primarily founded on Christian ideas and principles, Christianity permeates everything like a noxious miasma, even in a purely secular environment you cannot avoid it.

Maybe westerners are happy being Christian, Muslim, Aethiest, Jewish, etc.

I don't know about Muslims but Christians believe that God told them to tell people about Christianity and that's why people show it off. I've never met a Hindu, but I do know a Buddist, an Aethiest, a Muslim, and a Jewish person

I must correct two people:
1. Whoever said that Christians don't care aobut other people's beliefs. That's not true becuase I am a Christian and I learn about other religions when I get the chance.
2. Whoever said that Islam doesn't support other's beliefs. When I studied Islam I came across things all over the place that said if a person has faith they will go to paradise...even if it is the "wrong" faith.

Us westerners are mostly Christians. Our country was found in Christianity. I'm 36 and I've only met one Hindu, one of our cardiologist surgery in my city. I met one Muslim family and a few Jewish families. Otherwise, most people here are Christians. That's why I don't know much because I'm not exposed to it. All I know is from books I've read over the years. And it's not an interest of mine so I don't read much about it. Sorry. I respect Hindus but don't desire to be one.

Simply put, Hinduism is a minority in the religious rat race!
If there was as many people practicing Hinduism in this country as there are Christians we would certainly see and know more about it.
Also, most people are more prone to seeing their way as the only way and are not open minded enough to other views.

Because most westerners JUST DON'T CARE. Religion in the western world is just a fashion, not something to take too seriously..(after all, God is just an imaginary friend, a nice fantasy, like Santa Clause) The real God in the western world is MONEY.

No. I am a "westerner" - and the only Hindus I have ever met are Hare Krishnas - and I don't WANT to know any more about them.

If that's "low profile" - I'd hate to see "high".

Same reason they don't know much about ANY so called religion. All you need is a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. That is not a religion and you don't need to do a lot of studying to have a relationship with him either. Can it GET any better that that??? NO!

There is too much philosophy in Hinduism for your average westerner. They prefer it nice and simple. That's why Jesus had to get rid of most of the Jewish commandments to spread it to the gentiles.
