Sorry for being vague. My husband is allergic to cats and I would like to know if there are any known cats that produce less allergies?

The Siberian race of cat is the only cat which does not give allergy. I hope I am answering you correctly because the question was a bit vague.

I'm allergic to cats and so is my husband. We have 2 cats and we don't have any problems unless we pet the cats and then touch our faces. As long as we keep the hair and dander away from our eyes and nose it seems to stay under control.
I think it's a matter of building up a tolerance. When we first got our kitten my husband reacted quite strongly to her dander but after a couple weeks the allergic reactions stopped.
I found out that I was allergic to cats when I went away to college. When I came home for break I was absolutely miserable at my mom's because of her cat. I'd be all stuffed up and sneezing without end. But after I was around the cat for a while I was fine again.

This is a vague question to begin with but I'll take a shot.

I have two cats and am allergic to cats (my whole life). When I got my first kitten I started bathing him every two weeks with special kitty shampoo.
I do not react to him as I do with other peoples cats. The only time I see sign of my allergy acting up is when my skin is scratch by one of them.

I started bathing my cats when they were around 6 weeks old and now will sit in a tub with water up to 5 min. without complaining.

Well I have two cats and i love them alot, first of all my allergy was so bad i could barely breathe but now i think I am used to them and I dont react as much. What it is, is the saliva from the cat contains Fe ld some thing like that anyway, its worth looking up. and when they clean themselves and rub their scent all over you this chemical in the saliva causes you to react, well with me anyway some people think bald cats are the answer but that is not entirely true for all people. Sorry if this didn't help.

You should in time build a resistance to their dander.
If your looking for a cat that will cause you less of an allergic reaction, I have heard that short haired males and hairless cats cause less of a reaction.
Hope this helps.

I was allergic to cats until i got a kitten. I did still have allergic reactions for afew weeks after we got him but now it's completely gone away (it went after about 6 weeks). I can even be around other peoples cats now aswell :)

We have had great luck in placing siberian kittens into homes with people that suffer from allergies .

Usually cats that are mixed breeds don't cause allergies.
You can also use a product called Allerpet, I used it and it worked.

Yeah, I'm glad you asked! Norwegian Forest Cat are hypo-allergic cats. They look VERY simuler to maine coons. Here's a picture to see how they look like.
