Your infection would come back even worse than it was before you started taking the antibiotics, and you would have to start taking even stronger antibiotics for a longer period. My advice is to try going through with it without drinking, or reschedule the date. If you drink while on certain antibiotics the effects of alcohol can be intensified greatly. A friend of mine drank while taking antibiotics and needed to be rushed to the hospital because he stopped breathing.

That's probably not what you wanted to hear, but what can I say? Life tends to suck that way sometimes.

You shouldn't drink at all while taking the antibiotics. But I have a concern about a person who feels they need to have alcohol in their system in order to loosen up or have a good time. Your problem may lie deeper than antibiotics.

Have you heartd of SUPERBUGS? Those are nasty bacteria who become antibiotic resistant - and the cause is people who stop and start antibiotics. You could wind up much sicker and with a bacteria you might have to live with for years.

Even if you do stop for one day the antibiotic is still in your system for a few days. It doesn't really matter.

Cancel the date if it's going to be that bad, you HAVE to drink to get through it.
