~It could be anxiety, or something like that. You need to see a doctor for medications to stop racing thoughts. It does help you stop obsessing.
Good luck.~

I'm a nurse. Sometimes medication can have this effect. If you are on no medicine then medication can help to diminish these thoughts. Depression/stress is usually the cause of this, I would see a doctor either way. Try not to be so hard on yourself, things will get better with time. Start a journal and write down your feelings on paper. You could join a local support group as well. See the doctor so he/she can steer you in the right direction. All the best.

i have thoughts and fears running through my head sometimes (sometimes they're very extreme like what would happen if i ran my car into a tree!). i've no intention of doing this at all but it just pops into my head. i've started to write things down, especially if i'm feeling a little low and when i'm feeling really good, i read it back and try and put it all into perspective. makes my life more bearable and its cut down on the random thoughts and fears in my head

You have to be careful with these thoughts. If you start hearing voices, this might be starting to become a pscicosis, if they are just thoughts, try to think of something else instead, choose a pleasent thought you always come back to. Also talk to your psychologist, if this does not go away.

Try to learn meditation. It's free, and the side effects are peace and tranquility.
