Its the name of a Greek goddess, In Greek mythology, Bia (βία, "force") was the personification of force, daughter of Pallas and Styx. They achieved this honour after supporting Zeus in the war against the Titans along with their mother. well i just got a german shepherd puppy a few months ago and i could not come up with a name. Then finally i looked at her and she was a Greta the name is perfect! They are big dogs and Greta is a big name. Hope that helps, also hope the puppy is a girl.

We called our German shepard Blaise (as in modesty)and it fitted her like a glove ,she died 11 years ago,but not forgotten.
We now have a 10 year old shepard male ,who you can call what you like and he takes no notice although we do call him mackie.I dont know of another dog called Blaise so it would be nice if you chose that name,and she turned out to be as great as mine.ps. she was long haired also.
